Junk Removal and Hauling...what is it, exactly?

Just a "heads-up". I've never written a blog, before and I know this first one, will be a bit of a hash. Be patient... I'm hoping to get better, as I go!

I remember it was a fine summer day as I stood, looking out the window, thinking through the "discussion" my wife and I were having! Like those who have come before us, and so many who will come after us, we tended to have more month at the end of our money and were growing more and more dissatisfied with the idea!

Our "discussion", as I'll call it, tended to get heated, from time to time and neither my wife, nor I were satisfied with the way things were. Looking at the way things were and the way we WANTED things to be, were becoming farther and farther apart!

Looking out the window, to analyze my situation, I thought to myself, "I have a truck and I have a trailer... what can I haul?!" From that thought, came Maineiac Services Hauling & Junk Removal! I had previously, left my job, driving a truck, throughout the country, so I considered what I knew about the industry. One thing for sure, though, I did NOT want to be away from family, for weeks at a time!

So, like many have discovered, you can learn a lot on the internet. So, that's where I headed. Looking up "hauling businesses" and "how to make money, with a trailer" , led me to the idea of creating a business, offering junk removal and hauling services! But, what exactly is a junk hauling business? For starters, I needed to define exactly what I wanted my business to do. Junk removal and construction? Junk removal and demolition? Junk removal and moving? How about junk removal and cleaning?

I started to look at businesses offering junk removal and hauling near me and discovered, they really didn't take their businesses seriously! Run down trucks and trailers, more of a Sanford & Son approach to their business, it seemed! Well, I wanted to attempt a more professional approach to the business and really define what it is I'd do. What services I'd offer. I decided on hauling and junk removal, since I could do them both with the equipment I currently had! I threw up a post on Facebook and got a call from some friends. They were moving and needed some items hauled to storage and to their new home! CAN DO - I'm in business!

Well, that's how I started my hauling business, but, what about junk removal? What is it, exactly? Simply enough, junk removal consists of , well... removing junk! Garages get filled with it, it piles up in backyards and businesses everywhere need to have it removed! Junk just has a tendancy to accumulate. Everyone needs help hauling it away. Not everyone has a truck or trailer and the garbage pickup companies don't take everything. Therein, is my opportunity!
